Jinglers Creek Vineyard

Information

Jinglers Creek Wines

Jinglers Creek Vineyard wines begin life on a small family-owned property at Relbia in Tasmania's North Esk Valley, and are entirely estate grown.

Our 2-hectares of pinot noir, pinot gris and chardonnay are carefully tended throughout their many weeks of growth and development. Each season, we aim to harvest small crops of healthy, uniformly ripened grape bunches.

Vintage typically takes place during April. Picking is carried out by hand to preserve premium fruit quality.

Since our first commercial vintage in 2000, wines from Jinglers Creek Vineyard have been made under contract by experienced, specialist winemakers. In 2004 and 2005, they were expertly crafted by Michael Fogarty at Tamar Ridge Wines in the Tamar Valley.

Mark Smith describes our wines

2003 Pinot Gris - Surprisingly intense and concentrated, this is no cheap and cheerful quaffer. It's a quality wine, made dry as a bone, with lingering stone fruit and lime characters. It has a directness about it that is truly charming. Great value.

2003 Chardonnay - Extremely popular with chardonnay fans who attended Festivale this year and it's no wonder. This is a cleverly made wine, thanks to skilful vineyard work from Irving and Kim Fong and the contract winemaking team at Tamar Ridge. It's already nicely balanced, with attractive stone fruits and citrus characters, and well-integrated French oak. Terrific value.

2002 Pinot Noir - Wow! Save your pennies for the release of this wine, it's a ripper. Low crop yield and skilful winery work by Tamar Ridge team have resulted in the best pinot noir yet made from Irving Fonhg's site at Relbia. It's rich and blackcurranty.

2001 Pinot Noir - Kim and Irving Fong run a vineyard at Relbia that's as neat as a pin, and this Graham Wiltshire made wine is pretty smart, too. Pale and light-bodied, it has a long, dry, savoury finish with smoky overtones.
