Our Story
Jinglers Creek Vineyard was first planted in Tasmania's North Esk River Valley in 1998. Today, it boasts 4500 carefully selected vines of pinot noir, pinot gris and chardonnay.
Decades before, the Relbia Road site had been home to the famous Chinese market garden of Chung Gon.
We had no trouble finding a name for our wine venture. The creek that feeds our small vineyard dam has been Jinglers Creek since the early 1800s.
It was coined after a rogue convict escaped detention at Port Arthur. For months, he terrorised the settlements of Relbia, Breadalbane and Evandale. Among his traits was a highly developed capacity for horse jingling - the theft of the new colony's most valuable livestock.
